A naval squadron of four Russian warships (1 frigate, 3 Kalibr cruise missile corvettes) and a support vessel, along with a Squadron of two Chinese warships and a support vessel, sailed into the US EEZ north of Kiska Island, Alaska in a demonstration strength of the two countries.
Note that the island is located in the Aleutian Islands which were occupied by the Japanese in WWII (it was the only American territory that was occupied).
The eight ships swooped into the area in recent days and were spotted by US surveillance ships and then satellites when the People’s Republic of China guided-missile cruiser Renhai CG 101 moved about 75 nautical miles north of the US’s Kiska Island in Alaska.
Here the target is clearly the US F-22 stealth fighter bases in Alaska, a weapon that certainly cannot be countered by any equivalent Russian or Chinese fighter, before at least we see what the Russian Su-57 can do in practice.
The specific armada was also accompanied by two submarines, one Russian and one Chinese, to provide protection to the surface vessels.
They then detected via satellite two more Chinese ships and the four Russian warships, all in a single surface combat formation operating in the US Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)!
It is the first time since WWII that a battle formation of ships has appeared so close to American soil.
After they were spotted, the formation “spread out” as they appeared to be executing a specific operational plan. Of the six warships in total, three carried Kalibr missiles with nuclear warheads! At the same time, dispersal movements of the Russian nuclear forces are recorded:
- Three nuclear-powered Tu-160 strategic bombers were deployed to Murmansk near the border with Finland. Their development has to do with nuclear strikes on the US, as the Arctic Circle is the shortest route to the US.
- Three MiG-31s with Kh-47M2 Kinzhals armed with nuclear warheads were deployed to Chkalovsk Kaliningrad airfield. The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile reaches speeds of Mach 10-12 with a range of 2,000 km, it can destroy all the big cities of Western Europe.
- At the same time, they relocated to the Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the Amur region of Siberia on the border with China and added to the existing ones. The aircraft perform a variety of roles from anti-submarine warfare using nuclear weapons, to cruise missile platforms. They are the counterparts, in terms of age, roles and capabilities, to the American B-52H.
