Christie’s is honoured to present Churchill to Eden: The Collection of The Earl and Countess of Avon comprising a wide variety of works of fine and decorative art from the fascinating collection of former Prime Minister Anthony Eden, and his wife Clarissa (née Churchill).
The sale includes an eclectic offering of English furniture, silver and books alongside masterpieces from Anthony Eden’s art collection including two paintings by Churchill, a Georges Braque and a highly important pair of gilt-gesso tables originally from Ham House, Richmond.
Offering a unique journey into an almost vanished world of aristocratic and political society, Churchill to Eden celebrates the unique and shared vision of one of the twentieth-century’s most interesting couples and will be seen by the public for the first time.
