Our initial information is confirmed, that the Ukrainian transport plane An-12 that crashed 40 km west of Kavala, was transporting weapons to Ukraine and not to Jordan or … Bangladesh, as the Serbian Defense Minister claims.
The particular aircraft of the Ukrainian company was constantly loading weapons from Serbia and Bulgaria and taking them to Poland from where they are of course forwarded to Ukraine!
The plane belonged to the Meridian company, which, according to information on its website, operates charter flights around the world and also fulfills contracts with governmental and non-governmental organizations to transport humanitarian cargo. In addition, it works closely with the UN and NATO to deliver urgent cargo, especially military cargo and dual-use cargo. There is no mention of Bangladesh, nor of Jordan, and it was certainly not a “UN humanitarian mission”! But they cooperate with NATO!
And while the Serbs claim that he was carrying “mortar training ammunition”, the facts refute them, because training ammunition does not contain such a quantity of explosive material to cause such an explosion as the one that happened in Paleochori-Kavalas.
The truth is that the aircraft was a “workhorse”, as the Americans characterize cargo aircraft, a cargo aircraft that was going to land at Chrysoupolis-Kavala airport (Greece) (it followed exactly the airstrip planned for the landing in Chrysoupolis from Serbia ) to load additional weapons from Greece (perhaps not Greek, but American) for Ukraine.
After all, the aircraft carries 20 tons of cargo, and the Serbs admit that it only carried 11.5 tons. Such aircraft do not fly such missions half full. So he was coming to Chrysoupoli-Kavala to load!
It is no coincidence that this is his only occupation in recent months as shown by the flight plans: Transporting weapons from Serbia and Bulgaria to Poland/Ukraine!
The Russians know it all, but they “understand” Belgrade’s “balancing policy”.
