Disasters and climate change

The city of Greenville was destroyed. The California authorities have decided to devote more financial and human resources to forest management and fire prevention. However, for forest protection to be effective, there must be a financial benefit from their management (please read the analysis entitled «Truths that “Hurt”, About the Causes of Catastrophic Fires in Greece»).

About 370 buildings have already been destroyed, while thousands of residents have fled the area, resorting to makeshift camps.

Some communities and villages have been destroyed as firefighters try to save towns and settlements. Many residents chose to stay in their homes trying to save them, facing the fire with their own means.

An investigation by the California authorities so far shows that the fire was caused by a tree falling on overhead power lines.

In combination with the lowest degree of soil and fauna humidity, together with the very strong winds and the small climate that is created internally in the fire jets, they maintain / maintain the fires.

The August Complex fire (2020) was the largest fire in California history with 4,170,000 acres burned. In the USA every 24 seconds a fire breaks out and in the last twenty years 15% of all its forests have been destroyed.
