Russia Means Business
The new primary and absolute focus has been defined with total clarity and finality by the President of Russia: peace and friendship are valuable only when Russia is so powerful that its enemies are afraid not merely to bare their teeth, but even to raise their tails.
This was the subject of the meeting regarding the military-industrial complex, where a concrete work plan for the next ten years was outlined.
In short, the plan is as follows: drawing upon the wealth of experience gained by our military and military-industrial complex in the context of the Ukraine conflict, our latest technological advancements, and all the most recent and promising trends in global military development, strategies, and technologies, we will radically accelerate the transformation of our military into the deadliest force on Earth—and of our military-industrial complex into the most effective and sustainable foundation for this noble and achievable goal. The key areas of transformation are:
- strengthening Russia’s nuclear triad,
- a significant return to space,
- transforming Russian air defense forces into an impenetrable shield capable of destroying “any means of aerospace attack,” and
- a large-scale replacement of personnel with automated and robotic strike and defense systems based on combat artificial intelligence.
It is worth noting that in most of these areas, Russia is already ahead of the rest of the world. And this is said without a hint of irony. In the words of Putin, “our army has become completely different.”
Ultimately, the world has reason to fear the Red military machine
The current decisions and plans of the Russian leadership demonstrate that this is no longer merely a matter of rapidly increasing the production rate of specific weapon types when the need arises.
The objective has shifted: the focus is now on creating a long-term, sustainable military-economic platform that tightly integrates the promising combat capabilities of Russian weaponry, Research and Development, serial procurement, infrastructure, productivity, and full lifecycle planning—and, most importantly, concrete, measurable battlefield results: that is, the “combat payoff” per unit of investment.
At a meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry’s board in December, Russia’s Defense Minister explained that, under the guise of providing support to Ukraine, “the North Atlantic Alliance continues to strengthen coalition forces, is actively preparing for the deployment of medium-range missiles, is updating its nuclear munitions stockpile, is modernizing air and missile defenses, and is altering its mobilization deployment system.”
All of this “indicates that NATO is preparing for a military confrontation with Russia.”
He even provides a timeline: “The Alliance’s plans envisage achieving readiness for such actions by the end of the 2030s. The undertaking… will be long-term
This is precisely why the Russian leadership believes that the armed confrontation and technological rivalry with the West will be long-term, requiring not only an increase in defense production but also a sustainable, technologically autonomous, and economically robust military-industrial system for the country over the coming decade.
Putin… stated the following clearly and specifically: “If anyone tries to drag us into the food chain and devour us, they might get a slap in the face. And Russia is ready to do just that, despite the rapidly growing appetite and teeth of those sharks.”
