The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a major drone attack on Saturday 18 July in various regions of Russia. According to Russian authorities, strikes were reported in Tambov, Moscow, Vladimir and Leningrad regions, while explosions were also reported in occupied Crimea.
A warehouse complex of Wildberries – the largest online retailer in Russia – was hit in Electrostal, near Moscow, where dense fumes can be seen from across the city.
A major fire at an oil infrastructure in the city of Noginsk, less than ten kilometers from Electrostal, and explosions in Tver were also reported. So far this information has not been officially confirmed by the Russian authorities. In the Leningrad region, Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko announced that Russian forces shot down six Ukrainian drones.
Another major fire broke out in the town of Kotovsk in the Tambov region at a storage centre in Wildberries. In the Vladimir region, a drone hit an apartment building in the city of Vladimir, causing a fire. Residents were preemptively evacuated to a temporary accommodation facility.
