A key detail has emerged from the ongoing investigation into the November 10 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort metro station, in which a Hyundai i20 laden with improvised explosive devices detonated in heavy traffic, killing nearly a dozen people.
Indian intelligence suggests that the blast was carried out by a unit called Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) seeking revenge for the extensive damage caused to the group’s headquarters in Bahawalpur during the Indian military’s Operation Sindoor.
The same investigation suggests that the leaders of the terrorist group, which consisted of several doctors (who were responsible for the blast), were based in Turkey and were in contact with the so-called Islamic commando unit.
Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who allegedly drove the car, and his accomplice Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, who has been arrested, had also visited Turkey to plan the attack (with the knowledge of Turkish intelligence and the Erdogan regime). Both hail from the same village in Pulwama, J&K and worked at the same medical college in Faridabad.
Turkey’s Terrorist Activities in India
Curiously, just before the blast in New Delhi, Indian authorities arrested Farhan Nabi Siddiqui, co-founder of Istanbul International, for publishing hate leaflets and receiving over Rs 11 crore in foreign funds.
But his Turkish associate, Nasi Torba, escaped. ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) officials said Nabi was introduced to the network and is being monitored.
Indian counter-terrorism officers have found that funds from Turkey and Germany (Turkish immigrants who support Erdogan) were used to buy land in Abrokha and Punjab in the name of Madras.
Indian police said preliminary evidence points to a well-structured network using NGOs to promote divisive narratives and launder foreign funds under the guise of Islamic religious and educational activities.
Meanwhile, the Turkish embassy in India has denied any involvement, saying it rejects all terrorist activities.
The Turkish embassy also announced that the claim that Turkey is involved in “radicalization activities” targeting India or any other country is purely misinformative and lacks any factual basis, but the Indians know who and what is behind such actions and most importantly they know the painful response that will be given to them.
