This cinematic narrative, described as “an introspective and moving exploration of family, memories, and the reconciling power of art,” introduces us to characters such as Nora (Renate Reinsve), a thirty-year-old actress with a dysfunctional relationship with her father, filmmaker Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), who also faces problems in his relationship with Nora (“instead of their similarities bringing them closer, it’s like they’ve realized they’ve arrived at a party wearing the same clothes,” according to Vulture), and Nora’s younger sister, Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas).

We also watch Elle Fanning in the role of American star Rachel Kemp, whom Gustav chooses as his new leading lady.

The multi-award-winning Norwegian director, who has also stood out for films such as “The Worst Person in the World” (2022), “Louder Than Bombs” (2015), “Oslo” (2011), co-wrote the script with Eskil Vogt, with whom he was co-nominated for an Oscar for Best Screenplay for “The Worst Person in the World”.
