Israel’s security reasons require it to have access to an ammunition production line outside Israel – In Greece

As for the utilization of military lessons, let us try to distinguish a simple sector, for which there could hardly be objections raised regarding its dominance in the years that follow. Something that arose from both the conflict in Ukraine and the one in Gaza. It is the field of ammunition, specifically artillery shells of various calibers!

A fundamental belief that the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza should have shaken is that of the “short-term war”.

The question is clear: Can any member state of the EU, let alone Israel itself, cope with a war that will last longer than the calculations of a short-term war?

If a prolonged conflict in time has specific geopolitical conditions, modern conflicts have also demonstrated that such conditions could be formed and allow it. In any case, military staffs cannot help but worry about what will happen if the assumptions on which strategy and preparation are built go “wrong” somewhere along the way…

Anyone who expects American or other “ships” from abroad to meet the needs of these EU member states in time of war is naive, therefore dangerous to national security. The Israelis, despite the brave support they receive in this area, are already worried. It should be emphasized that Israel is a country with a very different military preparation. Despite this, the very large reserves he kept are running out. And in fact, two entities that do not have state status are running out against each other.

Greek-Israeli artillery ammunition production line?

Does the munitions sector constitute a “flamboyant field” for the evolution of the bilateral relations of these two countries in areas that will demonstrate their strategic nature in practice? The geographical proximity is an advantage for Israel, which has strong security reasons to have access to a production line outside the country.

Greece could be an ideal place. Demand will remain extremely strong for many years, which promises that a joint investment initiative will not only be based on meeting the needs of the two countries. A bilateral defense pact could also be signed that would provide for the necessary measures in case of involvement of either of the two in a military confrontation.
