The US Army introduced the latest A4E1 version of the Bradley M2 armored fighting vehicle. The Bradley M2A4E1 incorporates a number of enhancements, most notably the integration of the Iron Fist LD (Light Decoupled) active self-defense system. Iron Fist detects and neutralizes incoming threats without endangering the crew or vehicle. It incorporates advanced sensors, including an electronic scanning radar and a passive infrared detector, which quickly identify incoming threats which the system neutralizes with pyrotechnic countermeasures.
In addition, the M2A4EI incorporates all the improvements of the M2A4 version, namely lighter tracks, new suspensions, a new suspension support system, new and heavier torsion bars, a more powerful engine, a new transmission system and a new power management system. Also, the level of protection has been increased with additional armor. In addition, the M2A4s incorporate an improved sight system for the driver, improved software for the FBCB2 (Force XXI Battle Command Bridge and Below) battle command system, and more.
