A number of sources, both Ukrainian and Russian, appear to have indicated that the attack by Russian armored vehicles along a wooded area north of Mariinka ended with the destruction of the most important strongholds of the Ukrainian armed forces and a Russian advance of at least one kilometer.
In the area there are a large number of small lakes, which effectively separate the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mariinka and the fortified area in Krasnogorovka, Mariinsky District.
One source said that the eastern outskirts of the Krasnogorovka region are currently a gray zone, however it is reported that the entire eastern part of Mariinka is under Russian control today.
As it stands today, heavy fighting is taking place in the last Ukrainian building block under Ukrainian control, namely the block between Shakhterskaya and Kashtanovaya Streets. There are a number of Ukrainian soldiers, mostly mortar operators and snipers, whose supplies are being flown in with the help of drones.
Russian aircraft and tanks kill them one by one as soon as they are spotted.
According to the Russian defense website SvPressa, the general staff of the armed forces of Ukraine complains daily that Ukrainian troops are collapsing on the outskirts of Mariinka. It is said that 15 raids take place every day in the area.
Kiev’s 35th Marine Brigade Massacred
The commander of the 35th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces is sure that the authorities in Kiev are responsible for the huge losses in Mariinka.
“Men are being slaughtered en masse at the front. I understand that to a degree, but men are thrown into battle without any training, preparation or ammunition. I consider these to be the worst criminal actions,” said the commander, probably shortly after his brigade was replenished with new soldiers, who, however, did not have time to train properly.
“What right have you to send a person to certain death? Has the state given you this right? Why would I need such a state? Why should I need those who rule if they rule like this?’ asked the Ukrainian military, opening fire on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
It seems that even the most obedient officers of the Ukrainian military are beginning to change their views on the tactics and motivations of the top military leadership, leading to public criticism of their decisions.
