The situation, for the 7th consecutive day seems to be still fluid. The northern and eastern fronts seem to have stabilized, and the Ukrainians seem to be losing to the south. The Russians have occupied Hersonissos, while Mariupol has endured, but it is surrounded, and its fall is probably a matter of time.
The fall of Mariupol will mean that Ukraine is now out of the Sea of Azov. Unfortunately, given Russia’s superiority, it is almost impossible to send aid from the West. Therefore, if there is no ceasefire, it means that Russia will deprive Ukraine of part of its access to the Black Sea.
The Black Sea will be completely lost if the forces that occupied Hersonissos move west and occupy Odessa.
