A new Chinese offensive submarine has been spotted in Shanghai, while Russia has begun testing the huge Belgorod submarine.
Belgorod
The huge Russian submarine Belgorod is a modified 184-meter-long, 15-meter-wide Oscar II-class vessel with a displacement of 30,000 tons – capable of sailing below the surface at a speed of 32 knots. Its armament includes 6 nuclear-powered, unmanned “Poseidon” submarine systems where each can carry cobalt nuclear warheads up to 100 megatons. The Poseidon moves at a speed of 56 knots.
Type 039-China
The Chinese submarine made its appearance in Shanghai. It bears a strong resemblance to the Swedish SAAB A26 (please read the analysis entitled “The New Generation of SAAB Submarines“. Chinese Navy: It is obvious that it has “Stealth” technology.
