Social Fury in Poland

While humanity is marching into the 21st century, believing that it is time to successfully make colonies on the rest of the planets of our solar system, there are EU member countries where its governments believe that hiding behind religious doctrines can continue to suppress the freedoms of their citizens, attacking and controlling their own lives.

At this time and amid the Covid-19 pandemic, there are constant demonstrations in Poland from January 27, 2021 to the present day, when the controversial law that essentially prohibits abortions came into force by defining what women should do with their bodies.

The Polish government decree prohibits any deliberate termination of pregnancy except in cases of rape or incest or if the mother’s life is in danger.

The main movement leading the Women’s Strike protests believes (and rightly so in our opinion) that the state is trying in this way to trample on women’s freedom.

The red-painted masks worn by the protesters, which are the symbol of pro-abortion activists, show that the demonstrators are at war with the state of Poland.

Social anger is also directed at the judges of Poland’s Constitutional Court since they did not reject this decree as anti-Constitutional. The protesters clashed with police as the former tried unsuccessfully to enter the seat of the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court in October ruled that abortion in the event of fetal malformation “goes against” Poland’s Constitution.
