The US president claimed that the Straits would remain open “to all ships except Iranian ones,” while the naval blockade would only be maintained for ships “traveling to or from Iranian ports or carrying anything related to Iranian cargo.”

In fact, China is calling for “demonstration of rationality and restraint,” while calling on the parties to rejoin the ceasefire and return to the diplomatic table.

Reacting to the US initiatives, the Chinese authorities express concern over the US military blockade of Iranian seaports, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
According to the diplomat, respecting the legitimate rights of countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz, as well as restoring safe navigation in the region, is a common pursuit of the international community.
He added that Beijing calls for “demonstrating rationality and restraint, maintaining the hard-won ceasefire and preventing the resumption of hostilities.”
