The World Avant-Garde of Russia and China in Multisonic Weapons

At the beginning of August, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (2012 – present) once again boasted over the last two years about the multi-sounding missiles and in general the technological achievements of the Russian Aerospace Industry that will gradually equip Russian warships in the coming years. Multi-sounding Russian weapons will be capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Two years ago it was the Russian rocket named Avangard that in its tests caught the unimaginable speed of Mach30 (30,000 kilometers per hour) which is also a nuclear warhead (Independent Post-Boost Vehicles, IPBV) that is also applied to intercontinental missiles having the ability to completely destroy any missile shield of NATO and other countries such as Israel (Iron Dom), making these missiles impossible to shoot down.

Today it’s the Russian 3M22 Zircon and Kalibr multi-role rockets, respectively, that fly so low and so fast, with speeds of up to 6-7 Mach using a new type of fuel that gives them a further range of 2000 km (Zircon). While Zircon’s speed is so high that it forms a cloud creature in front of the rocket which cloud absorbs electromagnetic waves making it virtually impossible to detect by modern radar.

On the other hand, Kalibr missiles can carry nuclear warheads, as well as conventional ones weighing up to 500 kg. These missiles can reach an altitude of 1 km, but can also fly at an altitude of 20 meters above sea level, making it difficult to detect by radar.

The Kalibr is also known for its ability to pierce missile defenses – while traveling the longest distance at subsonic speeds, the rocket accelerates at supersonic speeds in the final stages of its flight to make it extremely difficult to intercept.

The Aegis missile systems of an American aircraft carrier and generally a surface ship (i.e. Destroyer) will have less than one (1) minute to respond to an attack with this type of weapon (i.e. Zircon), while the American missiles do not fly as much quickly to shoot them down.

In line with Russia, China has developed its own multi-sounding weapons. Chinese President Xi Jinping (2012 – present) in October 2019 attended the great military parade that took place in Beijing, where was presented the multi-sounding Dong Feng (DF)-17 nuclear missile, the killer of aircraft carriers as the Chinese military likes to call it.

Both Russian and Chinese insistence on pioneering multi-sounding weapons reflects the lack of technology at the disposal of Russia and China to build state-of-the-art aircraft carriers. American aircraft carriers are expected to deal with it through multi-sounding weapons.

The United States pioneered the introduction of the then state-of-the-art weapon – the aircraft carrier that judged the outcome of World War II (1939-1945) in the Pacific Ocean. It is the American aircraft carriers and their accompanying fleet with their constantly upgraded technology that have made the USA superpower of the planet.

The technological development to date of this super ship-aircraft carrier makes the United States the undisputed naval and air superpower of the planet, having today in the world seas and oceans equally twelve (12) active state-of-the-art aircraft carriers that control world’s sea commercial and air routes.

At the same time both Russia and China, due to their inability to develop aircraft carrier technology to their advantage and since both are territorial superpowers (Russia has an aircraft carrier that is constantly experiencing technical problems while China has three aircraft carriers with its most modern also showing problems, while one of the three aircraft carriers belonged to the former Soviet Union) cannot compete with the US in the field of aircraft carriers.

That is why both countries have rapidly developed subsonic weapons technology. Five or seven sub sonic multi-role missiles could sink an aircraft carrier, “destroying” US naval and air advantages in the world’s seas.

The issue on the table is what the United States is doing and at what point is in the US technological development of multi-sounding weapons. Are they technologically comparable to Russia and China or do they need a long time to reach them technologically?

What about laser weapons and whether these weapons can adequately protect American aircraft carriers by compensating if necessary, for any losses? The United States should always remember that at the end of every day, history is written by those who dare.
