Researchers at REMspace, a California-based startup company, have scored a historic breakthrough, proving that lucid dreaming can unlock new dimensions of communication and human potential. Using specially designed equipment, two people successfully induced lucid dreams and exchanged a simple message.
Lucid dreams occur when a person is aware that they are dreaming while still in a dream state. This phenomenon occurs during REM sleep and has many potential applications, from problem solving to learning new skills.
In previous research, REMspace demonstrated that facial electromyography sensors could decode specific sounds heard in dreams. This led to the development of Remmyo, a sensor-detected dream language.
The experiment
On September 24, the participants slept at home while their brain waves and other data were monitored remotely by a specially developed device.
When the server detected that the first participant had entered a lucid dream, it generated a random Remmyo word and sent it to him via headphones. The participant repeated the word in their dream, with their response recorded and stored on the server.
Eight minutes later, the next participant entered lucid dreaming. He received the stored message from the first participant and confirmed it when he woke up, marking the first “conversation” ever exchanged in dreams. In addition, two other people were able to contact the server through their dreams.

Next goal: real-time communication
Michael Raduga, founder and CEO of REMspace, shared his thoughts on the discovery and believes that REM sleep and related phenomena, such as lucid dreaming, will be the next big industry after artificial intelligence.
This achievement is the result of almost five years of meticulous research and technological development. Since the first lucid dream communication on September 24, researchers have been constantly improving their technology, achieving better results with each new effort. To further push the boundaries, REMspace aims for the next challenge: to enable real-time communication in lucid dreams. Although this is a much more complex goal, the team is optimistic that it can be achieved within a few months.
About REMspace
REMspace, a neurotechnology company specializing in sleep enhancement and lucid dreaming. Focusing on pioneering research, it provides innovative and scientifically proven technologies, such as smart sleep masks. In their previous research, the REMspace team demonstrated that speech and melodies can be transmitted from dreams in real time. In addition, they have shown that a virtual Cybertruck or a smart home can be controlled from sleep.
