The Russians entered Mirnograd after a surprise raid on the Ukrainian defenses!

In the direction of Pokrovsk, and specifically in the city of Mirnograd (Mirnograd or Dimitrov), battles are currently taking place between the Ukrainian and Russian armies. According to the Military Business channel on Telegram, raiding parties of the Russian Armed Forces have begun entering the city from the south, marking the start of a Russian offensive against this large Ukrainian settlement.

The new developments became public knowledge shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky himself described the situation in the direction of Pokrovsk as “extremely critical”.

The fact that the top Ukrainian leadership accepts Russian dominance on the battlefield in this sector of the front indicates that things are very serious for the Ukrainians. Pokrovsk is closer than ever to the hands of the Russians, and this is certainly something that keeps Ukrainian generals up at night.

Pokrovsk is a large city in Donetsk, which before the start of the war was home to 60 thousand inhabitants. For comparison, Bahamut had a population of 70,000 shortly before the conflict broke out. We are therefore talking about settlements of equal strategic importance for both Ukraine and Russia.

In recent days, Russian forces have made significant progress southeast of Pokrovsk. The outbreak of fighting in Mirnograd, which is 20 kilometers northeast of Pokrovsk, confirms that the Russians are trying to flank the large city of Donetsk from at least two different directions.

Right now Ukrainian troops are doing everything they can to ensure control of Mirnograd at least for the foreseeable future. Alternatively, if the settlement falls into the hands of the Russians, the situation for Pokrovsk will be particularly critical. Evacuations have already begun in the city by the Ukrainian authorities.

Belarusians Transport Heavy Weapons to Russia

In other recent news, the Belarusian military some 24 hours ago announced the deployment of multiple missile launcher units to Russia.

Among the weapons systems that Minsk will transfer to Russian territory are Soviet-era BM-30 Smerch systems with a range of 90 kilometers.

From the official announcement of the Belarusian army, it is understood that these systems will participate in exercises of the Russian army, together with other artillery systems of Moscow.
