Ukraine: More than 30,000 soldiers have been killed

Ukrainian researchers claim to have confirmed the deaths of nearly 25,000 soldiers since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, putting the total casualties of the Ukrainian armed forces at more than 30,000.

Kiev does not publicize the casualties of the Ukrainian armed forces, believing that publicizing such data would harm its fight against the Russian invaders.

Historian Yaroslav Tinchenko and volunteer Herman Sapovalenko report that at least 24,500 Ukrainian soldiers have been independently confirmed dead. They point out that the real toll is higher, since many of the 15,000 missing are probably dead.

“Obviously, the names of 24,500 dead soldiers are not the true tally, but in our estimation the number represents at least 70% of the losses” of the Ukrainian armed forces, they wrote, estimating that more than 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since the start of the conflict. Russian invasion.

At a ratio of 1:3, the authors estimate that almost 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been injured on the battlefields.
