Kiev’s counterattack on the southern front lines ended in bloody failure. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are not stopping attacks in the areas south of Orekhov.

Ukrainian forces continue efforts to gain a foothold on the outskirts of Novoprokopovka south of Rambotino. On October 8, all Ukrainian soldiers hiding in buildings on the outskirts were destroyed and forced to retreat. On 9 October, the AFU launched new attacks and managed to reach the northern outskirts of the village. However, they again failed to gain a foothold and were pushed back by Russian forces. Fighting continues in the nearby fields, there are battles for control of the heights near the settlement.

In the evening, a large convoy of Ukrainian armored vehicles was spotted entering the town of Orekhov. The convoy reportedly included up to 40 vehicles, which came under fire from Russian artillery. As a result, a large fire broke out in the area.
