The message sent to France by the African countries, which stand by Niger and emphasize that if the French Armed Forces intervene, then they will beat them, is clear.
Thus, after Algeria, Guinea, through its president Mamady Doumbouya, emphasized that “if someone dares to invade Niger because of the military occupation, the coup, we will declare war on them and send our army to defend the country.”
Also, Mali and Burkina Faso were in favor of the movements and against France, but the USA, as expressed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Algeria will support Niger in the event of an external military attack, Algerian newspaper Intel Kirby reports.
As he characteristically says “in the event of a possible French invasion of Niger under the leadership of ECOWAS, Algeria will not remain idle while its neighboring country faces an invasion”.
France and with them the USA are losing one of the last French bastions and therefore friendly to the Americans in an Africa that is turning in favor of the Russians and the Chinese.
Niger has already stopped exporting gold and uranium to France, after Paris announced it was suspending all aid.
Niger’s people’s support for the new military government is evident as is the country’s geopolitical shift towards Russia and China. It is typically reported that the residents of the capital Niamey poured into the streets holding Russian flags, to express their support.
It should be noted that Niger is the third country in Africa in a short period of time to turn against the West and head towards Russia and China. The other two were Mali and Burkina Faso.
It is noted that at the recent meeting between Russia and African countries that took place in St. Petersburg last week, Moscow decided to deliver millions of tons of grain to African countries completely free of charge.
For anyone living in the comfort of their living room in the West who does not understand what this means, food in Africa is the strongest currency of all.
The geopolitical blow for the Americans and the French is of colossal proportions since they are essentially being wiped out from the so-called “black continent”.
However, the “black continent” as poor as its world is, it is rich in raw materials and energy resources.
All this leads to the Russian-Chinese coalition and the BRICS grand alliance, which are preparing in August to announce their common currency which will be backed by raw materials and energy. In short, this coin will be literally powerful.
In the West they will try to convince their societies that they can continue to live on “air money”.
“As of Sunday, July 30, Niger has stopped exporting uranium and gold to France. The decree issued has immediate effect,” announced the new government.
As far as France is concerned, it is a country completely dependent on imports of this nature, which are necessary for Paris to maintain whatever special weight it has left in the 21st century.
France is a country that generates its electricity needs from 56 operational nuclear reactors. This means that large quantities of uranium are required, which until now it was obtained from Niger.
All uranium is imported. In 2021 alone, Niger provided almost 25% of imports into the European Union.
Uranium from Niger represented 15% of the total taken by France. This Paris should replace it but from where? Most of the countries that have such raw materials are heading towards… BRICS as well as the majority of African countries together with Algeria of course.
Before the withdrawal of French troops from Mali, their presence in the Sahel was intended to maintain France’s access to large uranium deposits. Now this becomes particularly problematic.
The shock for French society will be particularly great as shortages in Urania mean very expensive electricity as well as the country’s dependence on other energy sources.
The overthrow of the president of Niger, Mohamed Bazum, even at the time of the Russia-Africa forum, took place last week and the former adviser to the Kremlin, Sergei Markov, admitted that the coup in Niger favors Russia as Bazum was pro-French. Niger was all that was left to the French, they lost Mali, where an anti-French regime has prevailed.
French citizens are leaving
About a hundred French citizens were waiting outside Niamey’s Diori Hamadi International Airport after noon today to board the first organized flight out of Niger, according to an AFP journalist.
The French are the only travelers at the airport. They arrived there by private means, holding only a small rucksack, as requested by the consulate of his country that informed them at dawn of the evacuation operation, a week after the coup in Niger.
About 600 French citizens are currently in Niger. The French government was unable to specify whether the operation to remove them will last several days, because it does not yet know how many of them will want to leave the country.
France has a large need for uranium for nuclear reactors. It has the most nuclear plants in Europe.
