Three recent events that have taken place in the last few days show that the Americans seem to have diminished the influence they had in Africa as Africans are (also) calling for de-dollarization, (also) siding with the BRICS and their objectives and proposing their own peace plan for Ukraine, which Washington does not like at all.
This development alone is a big blow for Washington, as it now maintains a hegemonic position only among the countries of the West. Which, however, are the minority on the planet both in economic terms, as well as demographically and probably also militarily if one considers that the two superpowers of China and Russia, as well as great powers such as India, Brazil and Iran.
1. A few days ago, Kenya asked African states to stop using the US dollar in their transactions! It is an unprecedented action from a country in whose territory the largest station, the CIA, is located. That is, until a few years ago this country was the closest ally of the Americans in Africa.
The blow to the dollar promoted by African countries is very big for many reasons. Africa is beginning to transform. It is no longer the poor continent that sits idle and waits for “the white people” to exploit.
It is a continent with enormous wealth-producing resources in which the penetration of the Russians and the Chinese in recent years has been catalytic and, above all, it has been silent.
If all these raw materials and energy available in Africa are traded outside of the dollar the blow to the Americans will be terrifying. It should be noted here that the trigger to accelerate de-dollarization by many major economies was given by the sanctions imposed on Russia due to its intervention in Ukraine. The US dollar has dominated global trade and capital flows for many decades.
2. The former president of South Africa and current president of the African National Congress Jacob Zuma said that the war in Ukraine was aimed at the BRICS and not only Russia.
The first time that a top official from one of the BRICS founders publicly states that the war caused by the West in Ukraine has as a reality this great economic union whose ultimate goal is to turn into an unprecedentedly powerful global coalition.
3. A delegation of African countries recently visited Russia and in St. Petersburg they presented their version of a peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
First they visited Moscow. Second, they presented their own peace plan. They did not get the approval of anyone in the West and this means that Africa has become fully independent.
Countries that become independent from the West means that they will follow their interests, which in fact will be counter to those of the West.
All this together shows that the western countries in the coming years will be a hopelessly small minority vis-à-vis the rest of the world.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with representatives of African countries in St. Petersburg.
The Kremlin website notes that the delegation included the leaders of South Africa, Zambia and Senegal, the president of the African Union, the president of Comoros, the prime minister of Egypt, the minister of state, the director of the Congolese president’s office and the Ugandan president’s special envoy for special missions.
The previous day, this delegation was in Kiev and met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Ukrainians decided to meet the Africans, finally humiliating them and destroying the entire visit with the active help of the Poles.
In Russia, in talks with representatives of African countries, the Russian leader presented for the first time the initialed draft treaty with Ukraine, which was prepared last March in Istanbul. In the West, the African peace initiative, like previous proposals by other countries, was criticized.
