Russian Tong “Ilovaisk No. 2” in Bakhmut: The Greatest Massacre of the Ukrainian Army to Date

Russian media speak openly about the biggest massacre of the Ukrainian Army so far, talking about “Ilovaisk forceps No. 2” in Bakhmut. For those who don’t know the battle of Ilovaisk was the biggest disaster, an outright massacre of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2014.

Hundreds of men were killed as Ukrainian army and volunteer forces retreated from the eastern Ukrainian city of Ilovaisk on August 29, 2014. It was the deadliest day of the war in Ukraine in 2014.

History seems to be repeating itself. The images coming from the Bakhmut region are shocking. The magnitude of the destruction is huge for the Ukrainian Armed Forces with dozens of damaged armored TOMB/TOMA, tanks, etc.

The Russians have set up a large overlapping artillery ring from Ivanivske (Krasnoe) to Dubovo-Vasilyevka making Ukrainian phalanxes an easy target.

As the map has been shaped, it appears that the Russians have deliberately left an escape or reinforcement route for Ukrainian forces inside the city. The Russian artillery “sweeps” any Ukrainian reinforcements or attempt to escape through the city.

“Second Ilovaisk tongs” in Bakhmut

The streets near Bakhmut are littered with damaged military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Russian media, the roads near Bakhmut (Artemovsk) are literally filled with various vehicles of the damaged convoys of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Moreover, the Ukrainian military themselves do not hesitate to say that it looks like a “second Ilovaisk tongs”.

Footage taken by Ukrainian soldiers fleeing the combat zone shows the effects of Russian artillery fire on retreating units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

All the country roads are littered with dead soldiers, destroyed tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, burnt trucks and wrecked cars.

Basically, the Ukrainian army is leaving Bakhmut in small groups. Sometimes, as in the video, they are picked off by passing tanks and other armored vehicles that were lucky enough not to be hit by Russian artillery.

The whole area between Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar is a huge cemetery, as seen in the videos below.

The Road of Death from Bakhmut

New footage captured on the road to death from Bakhmut shows Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters trying to escape the “Bakhmut meat machine”. Ukrainians in a US armored personnel carrier drive across a swamp under fire from Russian troops.

Another phalanx of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came under fire on the outskirts of the settlement of Artyomovskaya.

Sources say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have only one way out of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). According to him, it passes through the villages of Artemovskoye and Krasnoye, and 70% is a country road “made of clay and black soil.”

Rudenko emphasized that the equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is literally sinking on this road. In addition, the road is under constant artillery fire.
