In this case, because the Democrats have enough power in the House of Representatives, there is a high probability of imposing a referral for investigation against American President Donald Trump. But in the Senate, the Republicans are in control. It is therefore not possible for them to vote against their own President because it would be like giving a certain victory to Democrats in the elections of November 2020. Unless the evidences indicate things that would convince at least 20 Senators of the Republican party to vote against the President “deserting” from the party line.
Polls to date show that the US President manages to rally his voters, presenting himself as a “witch-hunt victim” to the American electorate.
Based on the data so far and if President Donald Trump cannot be deposed, the Democrats will have made an incredible gift for the 2020 elections το Donald Trump, because the current American President coming out unscathed from this adventure will use his acquittal and the injustice his political opponents have done for his own benefit during the election campaign.
The question that arises is all this should not be known by the Democrats and if so, why did they do so to give a “gift” to Donald Trump?
The most sensible answer to this question is that they know in advance that Donald Trump’s own most likely contender, Joe Biden, does not draw his candidacy in the sense that he cannot win the 2020 elections to Trump and they decided in a direct way to taking out Joe Biden “from the frame of the candidates”, while also smearing Donald Trump.
In this manner, Democrats pave the carpet for the other candidates for the nomination of Democrats, namely Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and Michael Bennet. If the American elite has decided that the next US President should be a woman at any cost, then the Elizabeth Warren will be the one to lead the Democrats to the 2020 elections.
But if we look at the candidates of the Democrats based on how progressivity and how good and realistic are their proposals-policies that is then Michael Bennet (Senator of Colorado) who is the best candidate for Democrats.
Michael Bennet’s main proposals to invest on the increase of the job qualifications and training of the 70% of American workers without College degree and ending parallel the Childhood poverty are more realistic, more progressive and much better than the proposals of the other candidates and without substantially burdening the annual US federal budget.
What is certain, however, is that with all these developments, the US is entering a phase of a very tough campaign for more than a year, where the “blows below the waist” between the political opponents will become increasingly severe.
Unfortunately, such a development will have an impact on both parties’ voters because the fanaticism of the electoral confrontation and the discord will be passed on to them with whatever it will mean for the US society.
