The European Parliament, on the occasion of the sad 8-year anniversary of the murderous attack on the satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” in which 12 people were killed and 11 of France’s leading cartoonists and journalists were injured, posted:
“We will never forget what happened. We will never forget what they stood for. We will never forget them. Freedom is the foundation of our societies.”
The facts
It is recalled that the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo were the target of a terrorist attack in January 2015.
Eight years ago, also on January 7, 2015, fanatical terrorists, who claimed to be acting in the name of Islam, attacked the offices of the French satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo”, killing 12 employees (mostly cartoonists) and injuring 11 others, thus punishing them for “insulting” the Prophet Muhammad.
