The basic fixed values of liberal democracies and more general of the Liberal international system such as Parliamentary Democracy, their multilateral institutions with independent authorities for the protection of the citizen from arbitrariness of state, the free trade and transatlantic cooperation, are being pounded by demagogues.

In an international global environment that characterized by the severity of trade and monetary wars and from the coming global recession, the removal from the decisions of the institutions makes international institutions look like they “melt” slowly and steadily, as they melt the icebergs of the North Pole due to the phenomenon of climate change, from demagogy and nationalism.
The distance between the US and the EU, and because of the hidden monetary and trade war between them, continues to rise especially at the present time when global challenges require close cooperation and coordination to achieve common approaches to solving them.
On one side of the Atlantic Ocean, US President Donald Trump takes decisions without to take account of the institutions and on the other hand he exerts pressure on Institutional officials in order to engage them with his policies.
While on the other side of the Atlantic, the UK Prime Minister is doing everything possible to pass his policy even if he implements the strategy that “rule is that there are no rules”.
At the same time, in this warren, persistence in European unity remains in which was led by the new star of European liberalism the President of France Emmanuel Macron, who urges the rational cooperation and consolidation of the institutions in European and not at national level as it is now. The national Interests of EU member countries act as chains by keeping the progress of European integration.
Absolute nationalism weakens democracy and its achievements in collective international goods. The Brexit began as an ideology of British nationalist parties that even dare to use false evidence to convince the British people of the UK’s secession from the EU.
The unthinkable is currently being experienced and given that the UK’s full exit from the EU without the creation of a border either between Ireland and Northern Ireland (in this case the peace agreement in Northern Ireland is collapsing) or between the UK and Νorth Ireland (in this case there will be division of the UK) will lead to derailment. In fact, nationalist absurdity leads to an institutional derailment.
At the same time, the British nationalists’ main argument for Brexit was to restore the sovereignty of the British Parliament against the Brussels decisions.
But the drama continues, since the referendum on the Brexit reduced the sovereignty of the British Parliament, while now the non-elected UK Prime Minister in his trial to implement Brexit’s policy without an agreement closes the British Parliament for five weeks and then he warns his opponents that he will launches elections since the polls are in his favour.
The British Parliament last minute passed a law forcing any government to have to bring Brexit with an agreement with the EU before it became Brexit, saving the situation.
Usually in liberal democracies are the Parliaments’ (institutions) that abolish the Prime Ministers and not the Prime Ministers the parliaments. The chronic blame against the EU by British nationalists has resulted in one of the most historic democracies in the world being constantly degraded, leading a great nation to divide and decay.
