Ukraine-Kherson: Millions of citizens without electricity

The Ukrainian military accused Russian troops of continuing to loot and destroy infrastructure in Kherson. “On November 7, a convoy of trucks passed over the Kakhova hydroelectric dam loaded with household appliances and construction materials,” it said in a statement, adding that Russian forces were dismantling mobile phone towers and removing equipment.

Russian artillery hit more than 30 settlements in Kherson and Mykolayiv regions, while in Zaporizhia, Russian authorities forced residents to accept Russian passports after confiscating their Ukrainian documents, the statement added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that about 4 million people were without power in 14 regions plus the capital Kyiv, but on a stabilization rather than an emergency basis.

Planned hourly power outages will affect the entire country on Wednesday, Ukraine’s electricity grid company Ukrenergo said.
