Russia: The Zmeevik ballistic weapon can destroy an aircraft Carrier Battle Group!

Despite the partial lifting of sanctions by the US on Russia (on Germany’s Gazprom and fertilizers, seeds, medical equipment, etc.) the tension not only does not say to subside on the front of military operations, Ukraine, but Russia proceeded to present a weapon which he considers a “game changer” in the game of world power: A weapon exclusively to beat the absolute superiority of the USA in terms of maritime dominance, the aircraft carriers!

The weapon is the Zmeevik ballistic missile, a “carrier-killer” system with a range of 6,000 km!

The weapon has a lot in common with the corresponding Chinese DF-21D and DF-26 missiles, which have a range of up to 4,000 kilometers, but it excels in one crucial point: It is multi-warhead when carrying conventional warheads and can hit an entire battle group , at 10-12 times the speed of sound hitting six different hits on six different ships!

Of course there is also the version with a single 200 KT nuclear warhead, more than enough to single-handedly destroy the battle group of an aircraft carrier.

But of greater strategic importance are conventional warheads. For the first time, and according to Russian experts, a single weapon can sink an entire fleet without being nuclear! The weapon has already entered temporary operational status with its first units, under a regime of absolute secrecy, but now its existence has been announced as part of Moscow’s “warnings” policy.

However, it is a fact that all the new missile systems that have been tested in Ukraine have a satisfactory success rate.

Even the super-sonic Zircon missile is set to enter operational service in the Russian Navy before the end of the year, as government tests are reportedly completed and it is expected to be integrated into surface units such as corvettes, destroyers and frigates in the coming five months”. The Russian tactic of installing advanced weapons and strategically “heavy” weapon systems even on small-displacement 1,200-ton corvettes proved satisfactory in Syria and Ukraine when multiple and immediate missile strikes were needed: The lack of large units or to be more precisely, the impossibility of building large units, led to small displacement constructions with cruiser armament.
