Between August 11th and October 3rd, 2021, Janet Echelman’s Earthtime 1.26 Munich 2021 will be exhibited at Munich’s Odeonsplatz, presented by Mercedes-Benz. The Earthtime sculpture series seeks to heighten our awareness about the way we are all interconnected with one another and our planet. These sculptures serve as symbols of interconnectedness – composed of countless intertwined fibers. Each time a single knot moves in the wind, the location of every other knot in the sculpture’s surface is changed in an ever-unfolding dance of human-made creation with the forces of nature beyond our control. It was inaugurated as part of the international car show that will take place in September, with Mercedes Benz announcing that it will set up its own show under the work of the American artist. Her work spans a length of 24 meters.

Exhibition: K-9 Courage

K-9 Courage is the exhibition in the 9/11 Memorial & Museum that honors the hundreds of dogs that participated in the response to the 9/11 attacks. With dedication and specialized expertise, these four-legged responders made a difference with their handlers during the rescue and recovery efforts—and made a lasting impression on people around the world. After September 11, 2001, K-9 teams searched the wreckage of the crash sites for survivors and victims, and they comforted responders and the families of victims. When images of the dogs at work appeared in news coverage, they brightened 9/11’s dark aftermath.
On view until winter 2022
