Decent Joe Biden and How His Dignity Defined His Current Politics

The interview that US President Joe Biden gave to David Brooks of the New York Times on May 20, 2021, was highly revealing about how current US President Joe Biden set up his political ideas and how his personal experiences led him to draw up a huge fiscal program, the Infrastructure Program, to support not only the American economy but the foundation of its middle-income class.

It was mainly the image of Joe Biden’s father, who during the WWII ran a branch of a company active in retrofitted merchant vessels. When he started the wholesale business after the war, his partner’s mistakes collapsed financially.

So, it was mainly the image of his father who had collapsed financially because of the financial difficulties he faced, that defined Joe Biden’s character as a man and then as a politician.

The important life experience, to see your father exclaim “Oh my God, why to me” is an experience of character formation and a decent attitude to life.

Joe Biden believes that the issue of dignity is essential. When a man is deprived of his dignity and humiliated by insurmountable circumstances, the trauma created in his soul will be life-long.

That is why poor and humiliated citizens attach great value to their dignity.

The fact that Joe Biden from a young age understood the value of dignity made him adopt policies aimed at making underprivileged-poor citizens live decently protected as much as possible from the adversity of life and the challenge-arrogance of the powerful.

The political agenda identified as progressive will always have at its core the demand for the dignity of the poor or middle-income classes of society.

So, to have people living with dignity – including returning home after work without agonizing over whether they will have enough money to pay their rent or the charitable services they receive or say their opinion without fear – will be a foundation for every political agenda that has people at its core.

One thing is certain that US President Joe Biden has experiences that make him know firsthand how a man who is anxious not only about the future but also about whether he can meet the cost of his daily living.

This alone is a top asset for a politician because he knows what to do so that no other fellow man experiences what he and his family have experienced.

Bright light for U.S. the President Joe Biden that is sure to make it great again.
