As we approach the date of the American elections in November, the political divide, highlighted every day and especially by the pre-election conferences of Republicans and Democrats respectively in the US, will constantly widen the “division” in American society.
The pre-election conferences of the two-party contenders presented two completely different images of both the US President himself and the country itself, which give completely different realities.

Conclusions from 2020 Democratic National Convention
At the Democratic party convention, a heavy “indictment” was constantly made against the incapability of governing of Donald Trump (according to the Democrats), constantly focusing on how to manage the Covid-19 pandemic in the US and the costs it has caused both in human resources (lives) and in economic resources.

At the same time, Democrats gave a big hug to the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements demanding justice by eliminating racial discrimination from the services of the American state.
The Democrats’ campaign strategy is based on the charismatic and people-friendship of their candidate Joe Biden and the fact that he is able to listen to the wants and problems of ordinary citizens who are in many cases socially marginalized, while highlighting their candidate’s ability and experience in governing the country.
And all this in the face of Donald Trump’s ever-presenting “inability” (in line with the views of Democrats) to carry out his presidential and governmental duties, respectively.
As a result of Donald Trump’s incompetence, Democrats are showing the 180,000 deaths caused so far by the Covid-19 pandemic and the tens of millions of unemployed from the general lockdown in the economy imposed on most of the US states.
At the same time, Democrats, to attract voters of the upper income social classes, manage to portray Donald Trump as a potential tyrant who has the goal of catalyzing the institutions and ultimately the American Republic itself.
Conclusions from 2020 Republican National Convention
At their campaign conference, Republicans avoided naming that it was in their best interest while highlighting the assets and advantages of incumbent President Donald Trump.
More specifically, their speeches focused on Donald Trump’s competitiveness, generosity, and empathy and how lucky the country is to have him as President. In addition, the weight of their speeches focused on the fact that the revival of the country’s economy is just around the corner.

At the same time, the implementation of the Law and Order agenda within the US was prominent in the Republican speeches. This comes because of the fear caused to the average American citizen by images of angry demonstrations and incidents in Wisconsin, Seattle, Minnesota, and Portland following repeated incidents of police violence mainly against black citizens.
Moreover, their speeches focused on how to prevent the attempt to strengthen the culture of the radical left that finds political refuge in the Democratic party, which culture is the culture of canceling history and ideas as long as they do not identify with their own political beliefs.
As for the Covid-19 pandemic and its management, Republicans have focused on the fact that it is only a matter of time before the vaccine is discovered against this virus and that this is due to the brave funding that Donald Trump has signed to certain pharmaceutical companies.
On the other hand, the fake news of the politically leaning media to the Democrats is the Republican response to the Democrats’ accusations of the incumbent US President’s inability to govern.
The pre-election conferences of the two parties show us that these were designed to convince different masses of voters and always in such a way that each of them presents a different perspective on what is happening in the United States and who their President is.
The most pre-election strategy will be shown by the results of the November elections, which will largely be judged by key States such as Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, respectively.
On the other hand, two months before the U.S. election, conflicts in the U.S. are on the rise, and Republican President Donald Trump signed a decree on 2/09/2020 that would be able to suspend federal funding in lawless cities like Seattle, Portland, New York, Washington.
These are democratically controlled cities and an image of lawlessness is created. This fact alone shows how polarized and divided US society is.
So far, the election race has been ambivalent in these States, raising the big question of how the two parties will react after the election and how and whether they will accept the election result or further divide US society.
