The evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic around the globe forcing the majority of governments of the world’s countries to adopt measures of strict social restraint and economic lockdown has resulted in much of the overall economic power being shifted to new powerful economic elites, weakening previous economic elites.

Industries and companies hit ‘brutally’
With the imposition of the measure of social isolation-measures to protect the health of citizens-the free movement of citizens and, more generally, their social life have taken the citizens private lives, since they should now had to inform their governments of where they are going and what their purpose is.

The “deadly” blows were taken by oil companies and companies active in the extraction, distribution and sale of natural gas, airlines, cruise companies, commercial shipping, logistics companies, catering and entertainment companies, tourism companies, etc.
When we say ‘deadly’ blows we describe the fact that all these sectors of the economy and the companies active in them have had to be indebted and accept borrowing from the governments of their countries without guaranteeing that at some point in the future they will be able to stand on their own powers.
By enforcing the measure of lockdown and social isolation all these companies lost a huge part of their wealth.
The price of oil remains stagnant and is moving at low levels. Tourism will be “buried” for several years and until an effective vaccine is found for Covid-19.
Social isolation has caused a dramatic fall in consumption, resulting in a fall in product transport and a fall in logistics.
But nothing is lost. Neither the markets nor the wealth. It is simply that this wealth has left these sectors of the economy and moved to other sectors and companies in the economy that will now make up the new global economic elite.
These companies that have been most favoured by the health crisis are technology companies (Google etc.), social networks (Facebook, etc.), pharmaceutical companies, product delivery companies and companies belonging to the “green development” category which in no way want to see oil companies regain the wealth they lost.
The new economic elite of the planet
The specific companies that have benefited multiple from the Covid-19 pandemic measures and will be the new economic elite of the planet will be promoting concrete measures from now on to maintain their primacy in the global economic elite:
1. Teleworking will be promoted in every way and based on bills by governments and the right of the employee and the company will be legislated so that the employee can offer his work from home.
The more they work from home the more technology will be needed and the less fuel will be consumed. And delivery products will increase their turnover.
2. The partial social exclusion which, despite the lifting of the measures, will continue by the citizens because of the fear that will occasionally spread the media, citizens will continue to fear socialising by ordering more frequent products from home, a situation that will giant delivery companies (i.e. Amazon etc.).
The catering and social/mass entertainment industry will be constantly hit by forcing people to have more fun/entertainment from home, while becoming more productive in their work.
3. Every time people rest at the end of an epidemic, new viruses will appear like this. So that pharmaceutical companies are growing in terms of profitability from the production of new medicines and at the same time maintain a medical priesthood regime that all people’s lives will hang on to these companies.
4. Complete abolition of the private & personal life of the citizen by monitoring him the state legally and without reaction on his part, since everything will be done to protect his life-i.e. everything will be for his own good. In other words, an even greater accumulation of power in central power (governments) which to achieve this will require constant upgrading of technology and increasing use of it.
And all these for the good of all of us.
