“In an era like ours, there are four kinds of people. There are those who consciously wish to sink further and deeper into chaos and darkness. There are those who, willingly or unwillingly, are always ready to endure anything. Then there are also the dinosaurs of the Right, who live in the present situation whining. Through manifestations of memory, they imagine that they can bring back the old order, which explains why they constantly count defeats. But there are also those who long for a new beginning. Those who live in darkness, but are not part of the darkness. That is, those who try to resurrect the light, those who know that beyond the real, there is also the possible. They like to quote George Orwell: “In an era of global deception, the testimony of the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Alain de Benoist
The words of Alain de Benoist, spoken 10 years ago, unfortunately, are absolutely relevant to the current situation.
Our fellow human beings who “consciously wish to sink further and deeper into chaos and darkness” are not just around us, but are rather the vast majority of those who surround us. People with a fragile psyche who prefer not to know, not to hear, not to see, not to speak. They are unable to look the problem-monster in the eye. They openly declare: I prefer not to know and not to be informed because I am upset.
The next category requires extremely deep psychoanalysis. They are the people who consciously or subconsciously are willing to endure everything. Words like, audacity, cowardice, stupidity, masochism, religiosity, defeatism, etc. blatantly fail to cover this category. The problem is much deeper, perhaps at the DNA level.
The thinker Benoist then refers to the “whining dinosaurs of the Right”. Here I think he is extremely lenient since he avoids characterizing the Right as a more serious social problem than the Left. At its core, the Right’s logic is mainly a reaction to the Left. And as a reaction it will always be one step behind the one who provokes the action. Boarding the vehicle of capitalism (the opposite of communism) is an extremely shallow political mobilization that can in no way inspire visions and higher ideas. Therefore, it has an expiration date.
Finally, Benoist records the group of people who are looking for the solution and are looking for it dynamically. They realize that they live in darkness and, undaunted, they strive to reach the light.
This is an attitude towards life. It requires us to understand first that light is defined by darkness and vice versa. That the definition of existence requires both. In other words, the goal is not a final bliss, but an endlessly repeated victory over darkness and its servants. And this is a problem for many who have learned to think in binary terms: gain or loss. Victory or defeat. In the end, there is “paradise.” But there is no end. Because every end is defined by the beginning and vice versa.
For now, today, we are at the point of the battle where darkness prevails. And its forces manage with exceptional mastery the global deception to spread the phantasm of justice in a world that has almost never come into contact with the concept of law. However, its demand is a powerful drug for the masses and manages to numb the senses and thus alter the information received.
Indeed, Orwell’s saying: “In an era of global deception, the testimony of the truth is a revolutionary act” is correct. However, from the above, we understand that the torchbearers of truth constitute the minority in the whole. And this is often a disheartening feeling.
But the feeling is a subordinate of the masters of deception. The revolution of light requires that we “feel” with beliefs and knowledge.
And the issue of the few against the many is not a real problem but another distortion of the truth.
You see, the leaders, the beacons, are always few in number.
