The powerful USA demands from the weak Ukraine to submit. To hand over rare earths and other mineral wealth in return for debt, to recognize responsibility for the continuation of a war that it did not provoke but was involved in defense and ultimately to surrender.

Trump’s stance signaled the inexorable phrase addressed to all those facing the specter of defeat: Vae Victis!”
