Sichuan Amphibious Assault Ship with innovative technologies “Made in China”

“Beijing is strengthening its military power amid growing geopolitical tensions with the US […] It is also gaining new capabilities in the event of an invasion of Taiwan,” the FT notes, by way of commentary. The “Sichuan” is shown to combine the elements of an amphibious assault ship, which has been built to transport forces in the context of landing operations, with those of a mini or light aircraft carrier.

According to what has been known so far, it is said to be 260 meters long and from its deck not only helicopters but also large drones or even fighter jets can take off. It is noted that just a day earlier, test flights of the new Chinese fighter aircraft had taken place, which is said to be probably named Chengdu J-36.
