“Euronaval 2024”: Saab will present the innovative automatic control system of naval operations AOC

During the international exhibition “Euronaval 2024”, which will take place in Paris on November 4-7, the Swedish Saab will present the AOC (Autonomous Ocean Core) system. The AOC can be integrated into manned and unmanned vessels and offers autonomous control capabilities for surface and underwater missions. AOC activates and controls a series of actions and processes, automatically, without the need for human intervention. Thus it helps to save personnel and increase the duration of operations, as it removes the fatigue factor. Vessels incorporating AOC can autonomously perform missions such as missile or torpedo attacks, intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, mine warfare, electronic warfare, search and rescue as well as resupply and general transport missions. The control of the vessels, which integrate the AOC, can also be done by a human, from a distance. In addition to operational capabilities, AOC also incorporates safety mechanisms such as collision avoidance system, automatic course planning system and navigation system.
