Russian Army: Deletes all messages from Telegram so that they do not fall into the hands of the West if Durov bends

As you already know, the French authorities arrested Pavel Durov, the founder of the famous Telegram platform, some 24 hours ago. The founder of the said social network was accused that Telegram is now being used extensively by criminal organizations.

Of course, most people know Telegram not for its “criminal” but for its “military” side. The Russian military uses this platform to communicate on the battlefield, as well as to inform the world about developments on the battlefield. There are currently millions of Telegram users in Russia.

Indeed, Russian forces in Ukraine are believed to be significantly affected by Durov’s arrest in France. The Russian and Moscow reaction was immediate, accusing the West of arresting the Telegram founder because he did not agree to provide sensitive information to Western leaders.

Today Russian experts are trying to find an alternative solution, but so far the main communication headquarters of the Russian military still uses Telegram for most of its communication channels.

But Durov’s arrest is expected to push the Russians to develop an independent communications system of domestic design, so that they can use it without problems.

Russian Officials Delete Their Messages

As we mentioned above, the possibility of the West gaining access to all the sensitive information “hidden” in Telegram has terrified Moscow. Of course, this will only happen if France manages to bend Durov.

Russian officials and Russian law enforcement agencies have started asking users (officers, officials or ordinary citizens) to delete messages on Telegram that contain sensitive or confidential information.

Many Russians believe that Durov will eventually cave in and open Pandora’s box.
