The classic black t-shirt “deducts” points only from the circumference. Because otherwise, it can add a lot to your style, as long as it is chosen and worn correctly. Which means that:
- We are talking about a plain black T-Shirt. No stamps, no letters, no gems, no tricks, nothing. The more minimal, the more rock.
- No deep V’s and wide “smiles”. The more “restrained” the neckline, the better.
- Good quality fabric: Anything else will rust and hole soon. We’re talking about a t-shirt, not the jersey you wear to sleep.
- Like white, black is worn from morning to night. Fits in any kind of look and goes with almost everyone. Its difference with white is that it is by definition a more sophisticated choice.
As such it is governed by a few but powerful rules:
1. It is forced through a jacket, provided the jacket is not too light.
2. Doesn’t go well with light blue jeans: The combination is very common and unflattering.
3. It goes, however, with dark pants: Ideally dark blue, dark gray, something 1-2 tones “lighter” than black, but also a color more intense. Never with white jeans.
4. Black pants – black t-shirt: All time classic choice, but prefer it on an evening occasion. Make sure the shoe and belt “break” the absolute blackness (eg something tan).
5. Accepts accessories. A pashmina, for example.
6. Wears double: Shows off even more with a thin t-shirt – white or gray – underneath.
