Despite heavy US-EU pressure, Greece and Turkey refused to transfer S-300 and S-400 to Ukraine

Russia is pleased that Greece and Turkey have confirmed that they will not hand over their S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine or any other country. They are adamant about maintaining Russian air defense systems,” despite tremendous pressure from the US and especially Berlin.

The Russians are not naive and they know very well the tremendous pressure that Athens and Ankara are under on the issue especially of the Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles that both countries have.

Reliable sources from high-ranking Greek Officials state that the Germans reached the extreme point of blackmail, warning Greece, a member of the Eurozone, unofficially, even with “retaliation within the EU”, cuts in funds, fines, and blocking of decisions, e.g. for Beleris, who is detained illegally in Albanian prisons.

It is noted here that as a result of the pressures of the USA and the EU on Greece and Turkey, representatives of these countries made statements.

Greek Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis categorically ruled out any possibility of transferring S-300 missiles based in Crete to Ukraine, with a statement on Greek television.

A few days later, Turkey’s defense minister also denied all reports that his country would consider transferring the much more modern S-400 Triumph system to any other state.

Greek S-300 missiles were originally intended for Cyprus, but were moved to Crete in the late 1990s after Turkey threatened to destroy the system if it reached Nicosia.

Athens has had these Russian missiles in storage for many years and conducted test launches for the first time in 2013.

Turkey acquired S-400s from Russia, despite US threats.

Ankara, according to Turkish media, plans to deploy the S-400 on the border with Iraq. And this could be the first operational deployment of these missiles.

Greece has about 175 missiles for 32 launchers and Turkey has acquired more than 120 missiles for its own launchers.

The Ukraine plan by the US to make the US defense industry work

The US, by imposing an embargo on every Russian military system in an authoritarian manner in all NATO countries, is effectively rendering them useless, since without spare parts they become inactive.

Under the pretense of helping Ukraine, they are forcing the same countries to send their weapons systems to Kiev for free, thus forcing the governments of those countries to pay again for the purchase of American weapons, which are subject to restrictions.

So in this way, the Americans want to blackmail the countries of Europe (mostly them) to indirectly finance the American defense industry and directly help Ukraine in its war with Russia after the invasion of Moscow in 2022.
