A US-Russia space crisis has begun

If World War III ever happens, it would certainly start from the space between the West and the Russo-Chinese coalition. The US yesterday briefed Congress and its allies in Europe on Russia’s progress on a new space-based nuclear weapon designed to threaten America’s sprawling satellite network, according to current and former officials briefed on the matter. This is not a random move since Russia is preparing a weapon with which it wants to threaten the US from space.

US missile defense satellites headed into low Earth orbit

The US military partnered with SpaceX to launch half a dozen missile defense satellites into orbit on Wednesday in an effort to protect the United States from hypersonic missile attacks.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Space Station in Canaveral, Florida, carrying a “payload” intended to bolster the nation’s missile defense. The launch for the US Missile Defense Agency and the Space Agency put six satellites into low-Earth orbit. Two of these satellites are for MDA’s hypersonic and ballistic space tracking satellite sensor program.

American lunar vehicle

A lunar lander built by Houston aerospace company Intuitive Machines launched early this morning from Florida on a mission to carry out the first American landing on the moon in more than half a century and the first landing by a private spacecraft.

The company’s Noca-C vehicle, dubbed “Odysseus,” took off shortly after 1 a.m. with a Falcon 9 rocket from Elon Musk’s SpaceX company from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.

What has been being prepared for years between Russia and the USA in space and what will we see in case of war?

Russia, after withdrawing from the START treaty, on nuclear weapons, is probably preparing its next step against the US, especially in the space above the stratosphere targeting its fleet of satellites looking for ways to “neutralize” them. It is a plan to shoot down or blind US-based satellites, with the ultimate goal of jamming the global GPS identification system.

We are really talking about terrible scenarios, both in concept and execution for the entire planet, which relies on GPS for everything. At the same time, the United States is developing a spacecraft capable of “removing” Russian satellites.

Estimates are that after the withdrawal of the Russians from the nuclear agreement, the rivalry between Russia and the US will be oriented towards space, with dire consequences for the global economy.
