The war between the Israeli army and terrorist Hamas rages on with particular ferocity, with the IDF, however, acting on a coordinated plan having succeeded in completely encircling the Hamas forces north of the wadi valley, before the IDF’s ground invasion of the Gaza Strip even began. As we can see, there are three axes of IDF attack, one in the south and two in the north.
The South Axis
The Israeli army’s southern axis of attack (motorized infantry-tanks-self-propelled artillery-attack helicopters-special forces), is lined up along the following locations and runs from East (Israel) to West, Gaza Strip-Mediterranean, as follows :
Anzac monument (Israel) – Wadi Abu Quatrum lake area (Gaza Strip) – Juhor ad Dik (Gaza Strip) – area North of Al Mughraqa city and south of highway 10 (Gaza Strip) – North of Al Zahra city (Gaza Strip) – Al highway Rashid (Gaza Strip)-Mediterranean, Axis “A”.
This axis aims, on the one hand, to isolate all Hamas forces north of it and, on the other hand, to capture the cities of Al Mughraqa and Al Zahra from the Israeli army, part of whose forces will be stationed on the northern sides of the wadi valley, preventing Hamas terrorists from act in the South-North direction by crossing it.
The two northern attack axes of the Israeli forces
These are the coastal axis, with the mission of coastal control of the part of the Gaza Strip, from its northern border with Israel to the shores of the Gaza City complex, and then the amalgamation of the forces operating there with those of the south axis on Al Rashid Highway.
In this way, the entire coastal zone of the Gaza Strip from the Wadi Valley and further north will be fully controlled.
The second axis aims at the encirclement – complete isolation from the rest of the Gaza Strip of the cities of Izbat Bein Hanoun and Bein Hanoun, which the Israelis will completely occupy in the second time.
IDF’s Three Axes Converge on Gaza City – The New Armoured Battle Tanks and Motorized Infantry Tactic
Eventually, all three axes of attack by the Israelis will converge on the city of Gaza, where the main force of Hamas is located, with the aim of occupying the city and completely exterminating the terrorists.
The Israeli military’s tactics thus far include a mesh of continuous information flow from surveillance means, mainly drones and helicopters that observe the battlefield, to attack helicopters, fighter jets, self-propelled artillery, tanks and motorized vehicles, so that those with direct fire can eliminate the Hamas terrorists.
In addition to this IDF modus operandi, at the level of maneuvering and advancing Merkava Armoured Battle tanks and motorized infantry, Israeli tactics include using the D-9 bulldozers which are said to lead the way, clearing any possible mines or Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) ) of Hamas , and about every half mile they construct a position that provides cover and observation for tanks and motorized vehicles, while creating dirt roads for their movement where none exist.
