Why is the unification of the air defenses of Greece and Israel mandatory?

The United States, in relation to the current state of relations with Russia and China, must make changes in its military capabilities and gradually reduce its presence in the Middle East region, in order to successfully deal not only with China but also the Asian superpower Russia-China.

In this context, the administration of the United States of America disbanded an Air Force unit that was involved in the construction of runways at military bases in Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and other countries of the Middle East.

Earlier, at the US El Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which is the largest US military base in the Middle East, a completion of service ceremony was held for the 557th Expeditionary Sapper Company RED HORSE. In addition, the 816th Airlift Wing ceased to exist in September.

All of these changes are due to the fact that US troops may remain in the Middle East, but the United States is constantly adapting its strategic doctrine in relation to the current state of its relations with Russia and China.

The strategic confrontation of the USA with the Asian superpower consisting of the Russia-China alliance, but also Iran, defines that this superpower will have to be “surrounded” by possible tension-front situations, so that it cannot focus on a single tension-front (e.g. the Ukrainian front).

Since the USA-NATO have identified for the next decade as their main adversaries primarily China and secondarily Russia, which potentially threaten the Global Primacy of the West, it is natural for the USA to reorganize and rearrange its military presence in the Middle East, since their priorities are China (Taiwan) and Russia (war in Ukraine).

The USA will have to maintain control of the Middle East through a coalition of friendly states adjacent to them with Israel as the spearhead, which is why Israel’s partnership with Arab countries of the “Abraham Accords” was made.

In this way, they wish to create a military coalition in the Middle East, so that Iran is marginalized on the one hand, and China and Russia are excluded from the region on the other.

However, Saudi Arabia is reducing oil exports instead of increasing them, thus keeping energy prices high, which the US does not want (please read the analysis titled “The Rift between the US and Saudi Arabia is Widening“).

This creates turmoil in S.Arabia-US relations, a fact which remains to be seen how it will develop, since Riyadh is the most important and powerful country of the Persian Gulf and the rival awes Iran.

For all of the above, Greece and Israel will have to proceed immediately with the unification of their air defense, with Greece (EU) providing the necessary strategic depth for Israel vis-à-vis Iran and Israel acting as an allied country, where together with Cyprus (EU), to control the access of Russia, China and Iran respectively to the Eastern Mediterranean via Syria and Turkey. This unification of Greece-Cyprus-Israel airspace can be achieved with a similar defense agreement where the EU (Greece-Cyprus) will assist Israel if it is threatened by Iran and Israel will support Greece & Cyprus (EU) respectively if it accepts threat from the Asian superpower.
