Do you know that politicians in the majority and in all countries have no convictions? It can be seen in the comfort with which ministers and parliamentarians support a provision in the parliaments of their countries, while with so much comfort they support the exact opposite provision.

Most are done not out of conviction, but out of some impulse of short-sighted party interest. The interest, party or individual, is baptized belief. The deputies are voting in a monoblock, full of resounding passion. Attend a plenary session of parliaments in their countries to see the loud passion of the worst.

As far as the European Union’s relations with Russia and Turkey are concerned, those who have to have a responsible opinion choose ambiguity and procrastination, having in front of them the resounding passion of the irresponsible domestic populists.

Things are not good with Russia. It is the result of the US retreat into their shell. Without the American leadership, the other great powers dare to claim what for decades was considered off limits to them. Communist China wants to swallow up Democratic Taiwan and Russia wants to swallow Ukraine.

How much blood will be shed to satisfy the ambitions of the dictators in the coming months and years? And in the midst of the general unrest, how confident can we be that other parts of the world will not catch fire with arsonists in Turkey or North Korea or others.

After all, a spark is needed for general ignition in a world without firefighters. The risk of a generalized conflict in relation to 2021 has increased significantly. It is the duty of everyone in Europe and around the world to be serious and to deal quickly and effectively with their defense and to the best of their ability to push for the creation of a supranational European Nuclear Power.

As unrealistic as a dream may seem, Europe must pursue the creation of a European Armed Forces, based on European defense industries, which in turn will be based on European military research programs. United, diplomatically and militarily united, Europe would force Russia to rethink its defense priorities and land in the New Reality.

Next to a united Europe with a European military with nuclear power and diplomacy, Russia will always be a big country, but compared to a united Europe in the second category. After the fall of communism, Gorbachev, Yeltsin, and even Putin in the first years of his tenure, had as their ultimate goal Russia’s accession to NATO. American and Anglo-Saxon prejudices and interests in general hindered a development that would be important for the security of Europe.

This attitude nurtured Russian nationalism and the revival of Russian imperialism. It is never too late, until it is too late. In the coming decades, it will not be NATO that will protect Europe from the new giants, China and India, but its own European allied forces. We hope that these forces include Russia, which must help to establish institutions that respect human rights.

It is normal for Russia and not Turkey to participate in a united Europe and NATO. Russia of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Pushkin, Tchaikovsky and so on belongs to a united Europe. We must overcome Stalin’s crimes as we did Hitler’s crimes, and today Germany is a respected member of the EU and NATO.

Please, those of you who are reading this analysis now, consider these verses from the famous “Second Coming” by Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet W.B….

[825,3
25,1159,3257,58
post-7420","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-europe-geopolitical","category-geopolitical","tag-eu","tag-european-defence","tag-nuclear-military-force","tag-russia
["GET
