Following the election of Joe Biden as President of the United States and the general developments in the Middle East, there is hope for an end to the civil war. The hostilities in Yemen since 2015 have reached a turning point. The results for the Saudi alliance are meager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels are occupying new territories independently of the losses they are experiencing, presenting a de facto state of control over large areas of the country. At the same time, both Al Qaeda and ISIS, which have been active in Yemen since 2004, have established their own territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The war in Yemen has been going on for six years between the warring parties, causing untold destruction to human lives, infrastructure and the entire economy of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only hope now to end this war is through the US re-rapprochement with Iran, provoking the corresponding chain reactions in the diplomatic field among the other countries of the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both the United States and Saudi Arabia have been involved in secret talks with Iran for six months. The subject of these talks is the withdrawal of Iranian support for the Houthi rebels in exchange for the resumption of talks on the Iran Nuclear Deal Agreement (2015).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran definitely wants to enter into this agreement to end its continued isolation from the West and its allies in the Middle East, giving its economy the opportunity to follow a development trajectory that will have significant political benefits for Iran’s religious regime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Saudi Arabia hopes the same for the further development of the Persian Gulf region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If an agreement is reached between the US-Saudi Arabia and Iran, then Iran will “pull the rug” under the feet of the Houthi rebels, with the aim of Sunni domination in Yemen and the south of the Arabian Peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, after the end of the war, Yemen will be able to have a government of National Salvation and the Yemeni Armed Forces will permanently expel Al Qaeda and ISIS, abolishing the training camps for terrorists in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
