In the second part of our analysis, we will refer to the corresponding type of surface units with strong firepower of the Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway).

The goal of the Nordic countries’ defense tactics is to control the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Bothnia, and the North and Norwegian Seas, respectively, against Russia.

The most important of all these places is the control of the Baltic Sea. This is shown by the large number of exercises conducted by NATO in cooperation with these three Scandinavian countries. The degree of difficulty for the Nordic countries is the very large extensive coastline that requires high reaction speeds to neutralize Russian submarines.

• Sweden – class “Visby”

Sweden will upgrade the Corvettes to the “Visby” classes to remain capable until 2040.
