The main reasons for this move by Turkey are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. <\/strong>Reducing the problems posed to the Erdogan regime by US sanctions under CAATSA, following Turkey&#8217;s acquisition of the S-400 Triumpf air defense system by Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2<\/strong>. Joe Biden&#8217;s approach in every way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. <\/strong>Strengthening the Turkish lobby and the Americans who support Turkey and resist the expulsion of Turkey from the West, with the parallel rupture of US-Turkish relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4. <\/strong>At the same time, Turkey is indirectly warning the United States that if its proposal is not accepted &#8211; which does not concern the F-35, to which the Russians could steal information through its connectivity with the S-400 system &#8211; but F-16, then Turkey will be forced to stand on another supplier and Turkey will not be to blame for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5<\/strong>. If its proposal is accepted, Turkey will be able to relieve the suffocating pressure it receives from Russia &#8211; due to Syria and Idlib &#8211; (please read the analysis entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/?p=6306\">Russia-Turkey: The Force Tango<\/a>&#8220;) . Russia is taking advantage of the difficult situation between Turkey and the US by using it against the Turkish President. In this case, the Turkish President manages to appear less isolated, relieving the pressure he receives from the Russian President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>6. <\/strong>In Turkey&#8217;s domestic political arena, Erdogan manages to maintain the profile of a strong leader who puts Turkey&#8217;s interests above all else, putting pressure on his would-be replacements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7<\/strong>. If LoR and LoA are accepted, then the Turkish President will have to get rid of the Russian S-400 Triumpf systems in order to restore relations with the United States. Once their purchase has been paid then the S-400 Triumpf systems will be transported to Azerbaijan.
