There, in the old flour mill that operated until 1972, a trademark of the state-owned industry of the region, the MKM was set up, which acquired a new wing, with the signature of the architects Herzog & de Meuron. Since the laying of the foundation stone and about four years of construction, the expansion of the Museum Küppersmühle by Herzog & de Meuron has been completed. Inside, a suite of 36 bright, well-structured collection rooms leaves plenty of room for work. The project was made possible by the commitment of the private MKM Foundation, which was founded by collectors Sylvia and Ulrich Ströher. Collectors played a key role in the original design of the exhibition rooms. In the new building, the focus is on Art Informel and the subtraction by German artists, complemented by some of the post-war European art. The Ströher collection presents a wide range of works.

DALLAS (USA)

Exhibition: Canvas & Silk: Historic Fashion from Madrid`s Museo del Traje

On September 19th, the Meadows Museum, SMU, will open a major exhibition of Spanish dress and fashion that pairs paintings from the Meadows’s collection with historic dress and accessories from the Museo del Traje, Centro de Investigación del Patrimonio Etnológico in Madrid.
