The exhibition was curated in collaboration with the Perriand family and archive and marks the 25th anniversary of the first Charlotte Perriand exhibition at the Design Museum<\/strong> in 1996. Enter the world of Charlotte Perriand whose pioneering designs shaped the 20th century. Her modern ideas can be found in the way we live today, from the use of materials to her belief that good design is for everyone.\u202f Discover sketches, photographs, scrapbooks and prototypes that shed new light on her unique creative process and her rightful place in design history, alongside works by her friends and peers, including\u202fLe Corbusier,\u202fFernand Leger\u202fand etchings by Pablo Picasso.\u202f Her life as a fiercely independent woman – a pioneer, a sportswoman and a global traveler \u2013 can be traced throughout her work and helped define the modern interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum<\/strong> is exhibited one of the foremost artists of the 20th century-Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) \u201cIsamu Noguchi: Ways of Discovery\u201d<\/em>. The son of a Japanese father and American mother, Noguchi constructed a unique sculptural philosophy while grappling with his identity as an artist caught between two cultures, East, and West. Deeply influenced by the aesthetic vision of Constantin Brancusi, a sculptor whom he encountered in his twenties, Noguchi devoted his life to pursuing a world enabling the creation of abstract form fundamentally resonant with nature. Due to war, Noguchi also knew the pain of belonging to nations that were bitter enemies, and he produced artworks imbued with an earnest desire for peace. This exhibition will retrace Noguchi\u2019s remarkable \u201cpath of discovery.\u201d By communicating this visionary artist\u2019s deep insights into Japanese culture, it will reveal the essence of his art and the meaning it holds for us today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
