Chinese President Xi Jinping may have declared an end to the war on absolute poverty in December 2020, claiming that the average annual per capita income in all provinces has exceeded 4,000 yuan ($ 625) with a steady rise, but income and consequently social inequalities are widening and threatening “social peace”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all the Gulf countries, the main income inequalities occur between the populations living in the countryside and in the cities respectively. In China, the income of rural people reaches 17,131 yuan, while for those living in cities it is 43,834 yuan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the last eight years, this income gap has been widening, resulting in mass movements of people living in the countryside to the cities to live on better wages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the gap between the very rich and the poor in China is widening. The number of wealthy Chinese is constantly increasing. This inequality is also reflected in the Gini index which measures inequality on a scale from 0 to 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When in the US the index is 0.41 in China the index is 0.47, while it is said that the official figures for China are not the real figures, but in practice the index for China is 0.6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When in the US the income ratio between those living in rich and poor areas is 1.8-1 in China it is 4-1 (2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China’s aggressive capitalist growth economy is likely to cause these inequalities, which President Xi Jinping and his government have failed to reduce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, both the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China are trying to gain even more control over powerful Chinese companies, which, due to the internationalization of their products and markets, do not easily accept orders from the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 17, 2020, in the Communist Party’s Economic Affairs Committee, in the presence of President Xi Jinping, the “program for common prosperity” was drawn up with the aim of saving socialism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this program, China will push (encourage) businesses and the rich to create more opportunities for the rest of society. This indirectly increases the control over the companies under the pretext of whether they create the right opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increased control by a one-party system in companies will end up increasing only corruption in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To reduce corporate power, corporate leaders must become members of the Communist Party of China to have adequate access by reducing their exposure to corrupt government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
