Violence is not just terrorism which is a blind form of violence shocking many countries of the world. France has experienced the worst form of deadly terrorist violence in the long run. However, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, presented as a priority of the state the suppression of domestic violence, referring to the murders of women as a shame for the French Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted, however, that all recent Europol reports make special reference to the impact of pandemic measures (economic shutdowns, lockdowns) on the increase in cases of specific forms of violence and crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of these forms of violence is interpersonal violence. That is, the violence that occurs between members of a family (domestic violence), relatives and partners. Included in the category of this form of violence is violence between people or groups who have no family ties, but only personal acquaintance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, this form of violence accounts for 1\/3 of the annual total number of forms of violence that occur worldwide in developed societies while presenting very violent deaths. Psychologists tend to approach interpersonal violence as a remnant of patriarchal stereotypes where the man considers his wife to belong to her and should never utter the word divorce in their relationship (either in marriage or in a relationship).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Certainly, violence is largely a matter of cultural and social norms. But we will have to look elsewhere to be able to solve the problem. Attention should therefore be paid to the dimension and degree to which young people are exposed to a modern culture of violence stemming from movies, video games, graffiti, comics, music, demagogy-intolerance in political discourse, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This culture lays the groundwork for young people who see violence as a way of expressing and resolving differences. When young people are exposed daily to any form of violence, some of them are legitimized to use violence as a means of trading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a great challenge that all modern developed societies face and will continue to face.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
